Other Seed Companies

There are tons of other seed companies to order from, than just the ones I have done a review on. Like I said in a previous post there are approximately 120 seed companies in Canada and probably 100's of seed companies in the USA.

Other seed companies I have ordered from include: Gaia Organic seeds and Reimer Seeds.

Gaia Organic seeds I wanted a very specific berry and it was the only company I could find it. Germination was terrible so I never tried adding those berries to my crop rotation. I found the seed packet prices to be more expensive than other companies. Looking through their site I can't find any information on shipping (which to be honest is kind of annoying!). This company is located in Ottawa, Ontario. The one postive is that I love all the information they have on their website.

The other seed company I have ordered once from was Reimer Seeds. The prices were amazing, the downside germination was TERRIBLE! I would never recommend this seed company to anyone. They are based in Maryland and shipping is calculated when you checkout. They have a very diverse selection of seeds, but if they don't germinate than why buy from this company.

In conclusion when ordering seeds it is very important to look at the prices of seeds as I have stated many times it's the wild wild west when it comes to companies pricing their seeds. Also look at the shipping costs, some companies bake in the shipping cost into the cost of package of seeds and other companies charge for shipping. Another consideration is to "support local". Lastly order from the company that has what you want. If you ordering quite a bit of seeds it is quite reasonable to order from two or three seed companies. As I have said before, if stored properly seeds will store for a long time.
